Two pianos, four hands, One piano, four hands!

Nita Pelletier

A graduate of the University of British Columbia, Ms. Pelletier holds a Bachelor of Music degree, an Associate of Arts degree and an ARCT diploma in piano performance. Ms. Pelletier has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist for numerous events throughout BC including the BC Festival of the Arts and concerts with the Vancouver Youth Symphony, Quase Bene Orchestra, Fraser Valley Symphony, and the Philomusica Chamber Orchestra. Currently, Nita is pianist for the Evensong Choir in Chilliwack.

As a chorister, Nita has sung with many choirs and conducted the Chilliwack Chamber Singers for several seasons. Musical Theatre involvements include: Wind in the Willows at University College of the Fraser Valley (vocal coach, pianist, composer, arranger), and Gondoliers with the Chilliwack Players Guild (Musical Director).

Ms. Pelletier has lectured and performed for Elementary, High School and University students as part of the Instruments Alive Trio. Her essay, The Art of Interpretation was published in the journal of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association. Nita often writes new music reviews for the BCRMTA newsletter.

Currently part of the Piano Extravaganza Duo with Katherine Hume, Nita is active as an adjudicator and clinician. A member of the BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association, Nita teaches piano, theory, keyboard harmony and music history. A 2003 recipient of the Heart of the Arts Award, Nita was recognized by the Chilliwack Arts Council for “leadership and inspiration to others in the advancement of our community’s artistic life.”
