Piano Extravaganza Duo
Katherine Hume and Nita Pelletier met in 2001 while employed as pianist and conductor for the Chilliwack Chamber Singers. In 2002, they joined forces as the Piano Extravaganza Duo and performed a very successful concert for the Chilliwack Academy of Music. Highlights of recent seasons include performances at Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver, Capilano College in North Vancouver, the Silk Purse Arts Centre in West Vancouver, Kwantlen College in Langley and the White Rock Chamber Music Society.
Katherine and Nita continue to explore new adventures in piano duet and duo literature. Special coaching sessions with composer Douglas Finch (Trinity College of Music, London) and Terence Dawson (UBC) have added to the richness of their collaboration. Workshops and master classes for young musicians are an important part of Katherine and Nita’s work as a team.
Future plans include orchestral concerts and recording projects
